BEST OF LONDON FASHION WEEK
AUTUMN / WINTER 2017
London Fashion Week for me is the most special one, probably just because when Fashion Week is happening in your home-town, everything changes for a week. In every corner of the city you can feel the vibrant influence, street style photographers, models, luxurious cars, everything suddenly seems to be about nothing else than fashion week.
This year's week was a bit of a weird one for me, unlike the past seasons when I visited a few of the smaller shows in the main locations of LFW, this time I just had one big show, far away from the normal trouble on the streets of London. Versus Versace (Scroll down to read more).
Over the last years, London worked extremely hard to get rid of it’s bad reputation. For decades, journalists, influencers and others skipped the few days of Lodon Fashion Week and went straight from New York to Milan, but since most of the young fashion designers are studying in London, the British capital fought its way back to the eyesight of every major fashion journalist.
So, here we go again for a few of my favourites from the many wonderful shows happening in London.
A few years ago, Anya Hindmarch was nothing more for me than a pretty handbags label, looking back, I feel a bit stupid for not thinking further. Their latest collection is probably one of my favourites yet. So much fluffy fur, bright colours, wonderful coats and well, some of the best sunglasses.
One of the shining stars on the colourful sky of London Fashion Week. As always, young, playful and full of lust for life. Thumbs up from me!
Attending the Versus Show was probably one of the best fashion happenings in my life, and it was with no doubt the biggest. So many faces, so many models, so many of my idols. And I was in the same room with them. It’s still pretty unbelievable for me that I saw Bella, Gigi, Taylor Hill, Stella Maxwell and Donatella Versace (not to mention guests like Will.I.Am or Ellie Goulding) from just about 5 meters in front of me in real life and not just in one of my many magazines.
Truly an evening I will keep in my heart forever, my first big fashion show.
When Burberry opened their doors last year and invited to their Makers House, I was absolutely in love with the concept of showing a fashion collection for free in a kind of museum style for everyone. And this year again, the bigger and better Makers House in Soho surprised with so many hidden details of these most amazing little jackets.
